Adult and Continuing Education

Durham has two options for Adult and Continuing Education.

Durham Continuing Education and the Durham Catholic School Board provides a variety of credit and non-credit courses for students of all ages – from elementary and secondary students to adults. For more information, please visit out Adult Upgrading page.

Continuing Education Is for Adults Who Want To:Adult and Continuing Education

  • Take courses or certificate programs
  • Upgrade their skills or high school credits
  • Enhance their current school program

Services Include:

  • Training programs in career pathways (e.g., Building Maintenance and Environmental Services, Hospitality, Logistics and Distribution, and Office Administration)
  • School, career and personal counselling
  • Mature Student Evaluation (MSE)
  • Community agency referrals
  • Adult literacy and numeracy
  • Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)
  • Career assessment
  • Workplace preparation
  • Local community credit programs for residents in Uxbridge, Port Perry, Beaverton and Cannington
